Two arrested for assault of 64-year-old wheelchair bound man in NYC

NEW YORK CITY, NY – After an ongoing investigation, the New York City Police Department reported two arrests connected to a robbery in the 50th Precinct. Anthony Martinez, a 20-year-old male from West Kingsbridge Road, Bronx, NY, was arrested on Tuesday, May 9,. Anthony Myrie, a 25-year-old male from Bailey Avenue, Bronx, NY, was arrested on Monday, May 22. Both were charged with robbery.

The original incident occurred on Tuesday, April 11, at 2030 hours.

A 64-year-old male, sitting in a wheelchair outside of 235 West Kingsbridge Road, was approached by two individuals who demanded money. After refusing, the victim was punched in the head and his cellphone was taken from his pocket. He was then transported to Saint Barnabus Hospital in stable condition.
