Fake heiress Anna Delvey owes disbarred lawyer $152K, NYC suit says

Fake heiress Anna Sorokin allegedly owes her beleaguered ex-lawyer more than $152,000 and has been making false accusations against the attorney in a bid to avoid paying, according to a Manhattan Supreme Court lawsuit.

Sorokin, a German native who was convicted of scamming $200,000 from banks and businesses and served four years in prison, hired Queens lawyer Audrey A. Thomas in 2020 to represent her in her immigration case and appeal her criminal conviction.

She’s been on the legal warpath against Thomas since canning the attorney in April 2022, accusing her in a lawsuit of withholding records in her case.

The “Soho Grifter,” who went by the name Anna Delvey as she pretended to be an heiress with a 60 million euro fortune, has been lying in her gripes against Thomas just to skip out on the “astronomical legal fees” she owes, Thomas said in a Manhattan Supreme Court filing.

Sorokin “was able to remain in the United States because while she was taken to the airport and literally sitting in the gate area with her belongings in garbage bags, [Thomas] filed a writ and secured a stay from deportation removal,” according to the legal papers.

Thomas was disbarred in November after allegedly stealing money from an elderly client, and dramatically collapsed in court during a hearing stemming from Sorokin’s lawsuit against her.

“The disbarment . . . does not negate the balance that the defendant owes,” Thomas said in court papers.

A lawyer for Delvey could not immediately be reached for comment.
