Chris Avila divulged details on Nate Diaz’s confrontation with controversial combat sports figure Dillon Danis last year.

In November, Diaz was on hand at Madison Square Garden in NYC for the UFC 281 middleweight clash between then-champion Israel Adesanya and Alex Pereira. While most of the sports world was marveling at what happened in the evening’s main event, many of the headlines focused on what went down in the parking lot.

According to Chris Avila, a product of the Nick Diaz Academy, the altercation between Nate Diaz and Dillon Danis outside of the building started with a confrontation inside the world’s most famous arena. In an interview with InsideFighting, Avila provided some details on what happened inside MSG before Diaz was seen slapping one of Danis’ teammates shortly after.

“We’re at the Adesanya fight and we’re walking around by the snack bar area and Dillon Danis was right there and we’re walking by him,” Avila said while doing his best Nate Diaz impression. “I went straight up to him and f*cking smacked him in the face with a beer. Then all my homies just chucked beer at him and f*cking slapped him and he f*cking got arrested and he was sitting there drenched in beer and then f*cking got kicked out. Yeah, it was pretty funny. There’s a picture of him on Twitter just drenched in beer and f*cking getting arrested.”

Danis was never placed under arrest, but he was detained and removed from the building, leading to an incident between himself and Nate Diaz outside of the arena.

“We walked out,” Avila continued. “We’re walking around outside the arena and we saw him again and that’s when his coach or some sh*t was talking sh*t and then Nate went up and smacked his coach for talking sh*t and Dillon was just hiding behind his coach.”

Chris Avila Says Dillon Danis Deserves an ‘A** Beating’

Chris Avila is a former mixed martial artist turned professional boxer. Avila competed in both the UFC and Bellator but was released by both promotions after going a combined 1-4. Overall, Avila holds an underwhelming record of 8-9 in MMA with his last two wins coming under the North Iowa Fights label in 2021.

The Stockton native transitioned to pro boxing the same year, earning decision wins over Anthony Joshua and Mikhail Varshavski. He is currently scheduled for his third go inside the squared circle against Paul Bamba at MF & DAZN X Series 6 on April 21. Asked about a potential boxing match with Dillon Danis under the DAZN banner, Avila said:

“I don’t give a sh*t about him that much or at all. I’m just sayin’ that kind of guy deserves an a** beating. Like, for real somewhere. F*cking like an ungrateful little kid or some sh*t. F*ck that guy.”
