Nicholas Lloyd Webber followed in his father's footsteps and became a composer, making quite a name for himself and becoming a successful composer in his own right.
The successful composer reportedly died on Mar. 25 after a long fight against gastric cancer and pneumonia. He was 43.
Andrew Lloyd Webber, his father, took to social media to share the tragic news "I am shattered to have to announce that my beloved elder son Nick died a few hours ago in Basingstoke hospital."
The Oscar-winning composer was supposed to be at the opening night of "Bad Cinderella" in New York City but passed it up to be by his son's side.
'Bad Cinderella'
"Bad Cinderella" is Andrew's first new Broadway musical since "School of Rock," in 2015.
It boasts a myriad of award-winning personalities such as Andrew with the music, Emerald Fennell with screenwriting, and David Zippel with the lyrics.
What was supposed to be a joyful occasion for Andrew and the Webber family turned into a tragic and sad one after Nicholas' medical condition worsened.
"My place is here," he said, "In England, at the moment."
The composer sadly announced that he would be by Nicholas' side instead of being at the opening night: "As my friends and family know, [Nicholas] has been fighting gastric cancer for the last 18 months and Nick is now hospitalized."
"We are all praying that Nick will turn the corner. He is bravely fighting with his indomitable humor, but at the moment my place is with him and the family."
A few days before Nicholas died, Andrew updated fans on his son's medical condition, noting that the composer was not getting better.
"I think he's over the worst of this first bout of pneumonia he's got as a result of his cancer, which is just ghastly. But we're all here, and the family here has gathered around."

Remembering Nicholas
Nicholas had an impressive resume himself. According to reports, earned a Grammy nomination for Best Musical Theater Album for co-producing and mixing the original cast album of "Cinderella," his father's musical, which is now rebranded as "Bad Cinderella."
He also worked on the 2017 television series "Love, Lies, and Records, as well as "The Little Prince," a theatrical version of the book of the same name by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry.
