NEW YORK (1010 WINS/WCBS 880) -- A 13-year-old boy was sprayed in the face, beaten and robbed on Staten Island by a group of four young robbers who stole his bookbag and cash, police said.

The NYPD released surveillance video Wednesday of the four suspects, who appear to be around the same age as the victim.

The boy was walking at Forest Hill and Willowbrook roads in Willowbrook on the afternoon of March 4 when he was attacked.

The group approached him around 2:30 p.m. and one of them sprayed the boy in the face with an unknown substance.

A second attacker repeatedly punched the victim in the face, police said.

The other two suspects snatched the boy’s bookbag and demanded he give them any other valuables.

He handed over $40, which the suspects fled with, police said.

The victim was transported by EMS to Richmond University Medical Center, where he was listed in stable condition with minor injuries.

Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS.
