Crews with Truckee Meadows Fire & Rescue saved three people from the Truckee River on Monday afternoon. It happened near Ambrose Park according to a post on the TMFR X page. A raft carrying the victims got hung up on some willows according to the post, and the rafters were not wearing floatation devices.

California wildlife officials confirmed Tuesday they are investigating a report that a bear cub was shot and killed near South Lake Tahoe. The BEAR League advocacy group said it reported the shooting to the California Department of Fish and Wildlife after getting a call from a person who said they witnessed their neighbor shooting the bear cub.

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE — A bear cub was shot and killed by a property owner after sneaking into an El Dorado County home on Memorial Day.The Bear League, a nonprofit that works to keep bears safe and wild in their natural habitat, announced it on social media on Tuesday.
