Where to buy legal weed in N.J.: an updated list

Three new weed retail stores opened their doors to customers in the last few weeks, bringing the number of recreational dispensaries in the Garden State to 30.

As the Garden State’s legal cannabis market continues to rollout since it opened more than a year ago, several new retail stores for adult consumers have opened this year.

Three more legal dispensaries opened in New Jersey this month. There are now 30 stores dotting the state that are open for recreational sales. We will continue to update this list with details on where you can buy legal weed in New Jersey as more stores open.

Take note that most accept cash only at the register. Most stores have ATMs inside. A government-issued form of ID is required for entry.

Below is the complete list of locations and hours of operation for each dispensary, broken down by region and county. Click on the town for the store website.

North Jersey

There are five companies that make up eight stores, each having their own menus, layout and culture.

Passaic County
  • RISE in Paterson, 196 3rd Ave., Call: (973) 440-2717. Hours: 7 a.m.-9 p.m., and 9 a.m.-9:30 p.m. on Monday.
Bergen County
Hudson County
  • Harmony in Secaucus, 600 Meadowlands Parkway, Suite 15, Call: (201) 356-7268. Hours: 9 a.m.- 10 p.m. Sunday-Friday, 9 a.m.-11 p.m. on Saturday.
Essex County

Central Jersey

In Central Jersey, five companies run 12 dispensaries. There are two independently owned stores.

Burlington County
Monmouth County
Mercer County
  • BLOC in Ewing, 1761 N. Olden Ave., Call: (973) 494-8499. Hours: 7 a.m.-10 p.m. Monday-Saturday, and 8 a.m.-7 p.m. on Sunday.
  • Zen Leaf in Lawrence Township, 3256 Brunswick Pike, Call: (908) 676-5936. Hours: 8 a.m.-10 p.m., closes at 9 p.m. on Sunday.
Middlesex County
Somerset County
  • BLOC in Somerset, 1075 Easton Ave., Unit 21, Call: (732) 790-5899. Hours: 7 a.m.-10 p.m. Monday-Saturday, and 8 a.m.-7 p.m. Sunday.
  • Valley Wellness in Raritan, at 407 U.S. Route 202, Call: (908) 429-6680. Hours: 10 a.m.-7 p.m.
Union County
  • AYR Dispensary in Union, 2536 US-22, Call: (848) 999-2005. Hours: 9 a.m.-9 p.m., and 11 a.m.-7 p.m. on Sunday.
  • Zen Leaf in Elizabeth, 117 Spring St, Call: (908) 676-5936. Hours: 10 a.m.-9 p.m. on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays; 8 a.m.-10 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays; 11 a.m.-8 p.m. Sundays.
Warren County
  • The Apothecarium in Phillipsburg, 55 S Main St, Call: (908) 777-7420. Hours: 8 a.m.-9 p.m., but closes at 10 p.m. on Thursday, Friday and Saturday.

South Jersey

Six national cannabis companies are spread across four counties in South Jersey, operating adult-use sales at nine locations. There is one independently owned store:

  • MPX in Atlantic City, 153 S. New York Ave., Unit B, Call: (609) 616-7770. Hours: 1 p.m.-5 p.m. Monday, 1 p.m.-7 p.m. Tuesday-Wednesday, noon-8 p.m. Thursday-Saturday. Closed on Sunday.
