Man pleads guilty to sexual battery, sentenced in New Hanover County Superior Court
A man pleaded guilty to sexual battery on Monday morning in New Hanover County Superior Court. Paul Scott Jackson, 57, was charged in connection with the assault of a 25-year-old woman inside of a local beach bar. According to a news release from the New Hanover County District Attorney's Office, after the victim denied a handshake from Jackson, he sexually assaulted her inside the bar. The victim immediately reported the assault to law enforcement officers on scene.
Man pleads guilty to sexually assaulting woman at local bar
CAROLINA BEACH, N.C. (WECT) - Carolina Beach resident Paul Scott Jackson pleaded guilty to sexual battery on Monday, April 22, in New Hanover County Criminal Superior Court. The 57-year-old’s trial was set to start later that day. He was sentenced to 75 days in jail suspended with 36 months of supervised probation. He will not be allowed to consume alcohol during probation, and he will be required to complete all recommended sex offender treatment. He was ordered to register as a sex offender for 30 years.
