  • One count of possession of methamphetamine, a Level 6 felony
  • Three misdemeanor counts of theft

On April 4, deputies with the Henry County Sheriff’s Department were called to a mobile home park in reference to a burglary. The woman who lived in the home told deputies that when she arrived, she saw that the front and back doors were open. The woman also told police the following items were missing:

  • Television
  • Stereo system
  • Two class rings
  • Silverware set in a wooden case
  • Copy/fax machine.

The documents said a witness reportedly called the property manager of the mobile home park after he saw someone break into the woman’s home. The witness told deputies that he saw two individuals enter the trailer and walk out with various items.

The witness told deputies he recognized one of the men, identifying the man as Barrett. The documents said that deputies then went and contacted Barrett at his home. When deputies were at Barrett’s home, they saw “what appeared to be speakers to a stereo system” in the windows of an SUV that was parked in his driveway.

After the deputies received a search warrant for Barrett’s home, they reportedly found multiple items from the reported burglary, including the silverware set and the stereo system. Officials said the deputies also reportedly found mushrooms, methamphetamine and paraphernalia.

According to court documents, Barrett’s pretrial conference is scheduled for July 25 and his jury trial is scheduled for Sept. 9.
