GREENVILLE, N.C. (WNCT) — It’s that time of year again!

Dozens of artists are in New Bern painting the city. It’s all part of the fourth North Carolina Plein Air Art Festival. There are 37 artists split up between Beaufort, Oriental and New Bern. More than 400 paintings will be produced live on location over one week.

Festival organizers said that people are awed by the works.

“Astounded. You can see the work. You just go through. I loved it. The first night, somebody was running through. They were literally running through. Going on a run and by the time they got to the end, they’re on the telephone and they’re saying you ought to see this artwork, it’s wonderful artwork, so we’re excited about that.” said Kippy Hammond, founder and director.
