New Bedford Feast Announces Concert Lineup for 107th Celebration

The 107th Feast of the Blessed Sacrament is less than two months away, and organizers appeared on Michael and Maddie Monday morning to announce this year's headliners.

As many know, Thursday night is traditionally the slot for a national headliner. This year will be no different. Madeira Field will take a trip back to the '70s and '80s with a performance by Barry Goudreau's Engine Room. Goudreau is formerly of the band Boston.

The main stage will also feature a performance by New Bedford native Quinn Sullivan, who got his big break during an appearance on Ellen. Sullivan went on to an impromptu performance with Buddy Guy at Zeiterion Performing Arts Center and an iconic performance with B.B. King.

More classic rock will be featured on Friday night with a Van Halen tribute band called Everybody Wants Some.

By popular demand, some Portuguese music will be featured on Saturday night's main stage. It's hard to go to a Portuguese wedding here on the SouthCoast without hearing one or two tracks from the legendary band Starlight.

The feast has heard the cry for more Portuguese music and has delivered it in a big way.

The feast wraps up with a performance by country singer and Massachusetts native Ayla Brown, who broke onto the scene with her appearances on American Idol.

It's safe to say that between the classic rock, the country music, the blues and and the Portuguese music, there's something for just about everyone at this year's Feast of the Blessed Sacrament.

The best part of the feast is that there is no admission. The entertainment is always free.

The 107th Feast of the Blessed Sacrament runs Aug. 3-6 at Madeira Field in New Bedford.
