A 27-year-old Nederland man who allegedly fled from police on a motorcycle then tried to flee into his home was indicted by a Jefferson County grand jury last week.

According to the probable cause affidavit, Evan Robert Bodin was seen by a Nederland police officer traveling 56 mph in a 30-mph zone on a Kawaski motorcycle in the 200 block of Hardy Avenue on March 6.

When the officer attempted to stop the motorcyclist, the driver reportedly looked back at the officer and continued to speed away, traveling east on avenue H.

The motorcyclist slid in the middle turn lane, turned south on Hill Terrace Drive, then drove to Hilldale Drive.

The motorcycle went to a home in the 100 block of Hilldale, and the driver attempted to flee inside the home.

The officer got out and chased the driver, who reportedly resisted arrest several times before being placed under arrest, the document read.

Bodin was arrested for evading arrest detention with a vehicle, and was indicted on the same charge, which is a third degree felony.
