It’s Wednesday, May 15, 2024. Happy hump day, Boulder. I hope you’re feeling peppy this morning because we’ve got news to get through. First, Boulder Housing Partners plans to convert an office building into housing, an idea that has rippled through Boulder since the pandemic. The old Geological Society building near the intersection of Foothills and Diagonal highways could become the city’s largest affordable housing development in years. With more people working from home, Boulder has an increasing amount of vacant office space amid a housing crisis. Converting those offices into apartments is an idea repeatedly raised by city councilmembers.
