NAVASOTA INVITING PUBLIC FEEDBACK AT STRATEGIC PLANNING WORKSHOP APRIL 4

Navasota residents are encouraged to give their input to city leaders at a strategic planning workshop next week.

Navasota City Hall

The workshop takes place next Tuesday, April 4th from 6 to 8 p.m. in the Navasota City Hall council chambers.

The city says it wants to hear from citizens regarding what they would like to see included in the council’s plans and budget for the next two to three years.

After a city and community evaluation process, the resulting plan will include short- and long-term strategic goals and objectives with performance indicators.  The plan, expected to be complete this summer, will direct the city’s efforts and resources toward a defined vision for its future.

The town hall will be facilitated by Alysia Cook of Opportunity Strategies LLC, who the city selected for strategic planning services.

City Manager Jason Weeks says the goal of the process is to “give direction to the city and the city council over the coming years.”  He said as the city considers projects for the near and distant future, leaders will “ensure they align with the vision and goals established within the strategic plan.”

RSVPs are not required for the town hall meeting.

Following this meeting, the city will host a series of specialized workshops that focus on receiving feedback from stakeholder groups like developers, realtors, industry leaders, business owners, downtown property owners, education, health and public safety, nonprofit organizations, and boards and commissions.
