Softball: NSU Demons cruise to win against Grambling
NATCHITOCHES, La. (NSU) - Northwestern State took advantage of some strong hits and some weak defense to pick up an 8-3 win against Grambling on Tuesday night. In their final midweek game of the season, the Demons (18-30) needed just three batters to take a 2-0 lead on a Tristin Court home run. A vintage Little League home run gave them the lead back in the third, and a four-run fourth helped secure their fourth straight home win.
Mayoral runoff looms in Natchitoches
NATCHITOCHES, La. (KALB) - Neither candidate in the Natchitoches Mayoral Race secured 50% of the vote in the March election, necessitating a runoff in April 27′s election. Natchitoches voters cast their ballots back on March 23 to decide between re-electing incumbent Mayor Ronnie Williams Jr. (D) or choosing one of his challengers: Lee Posey (I), James Below, Jr. (D) or Gerard Lamar “Jerry” Witman, Jr. (D).
