MINEOLA, N.Y. (1010 WINS) – A man on Monday pleaded guilty to a fatal 2022 DWI collision with a motorcycle on Long Island where he was driving 100 mph with nearly three times the legal limit of alcohol in his system, Nassau County District Attorney Anne Donnelly announced.

Jordan Solomon, 32, pleaded guilty to aggravated vehicular homicide, assault in the Second Degree, and aggravated driving while intoxicated.

At approximately 11:45 p.m., on March 15, 2022, Solomon was driving his 2021 Kia K5 west on Jericho Turnpike while highly intoxicated.

Solomon was allegedly traveling 100 mph when he crashed into the back of 29-year-old Stanley Christopher Soobrian’s motorcycle, sending him into Solomon's windshield, and wedging the motorcycle into the front of his vehicle, officials said.

Soobrian was pronounced dead at the scene.

"Stanley Christopher Soobrian was heading home to his family after a day of work when the defendant, drunk and driving more than twice the speed limit, crashed into the back of his motorcycle and killed him," said DA Donnelly. "Solomon hit the motorcycle with such force that it lodged into the front of his vehicle."

Solomon had a BAC of .23 approximately two hours after the crash. He was arrested a short distance from the scene by officers of the Nassau County Police Department.

He is expected to be sentenced to 6-1/2 to 15 years in prison when he is sentenced on June 6. The Nassau County DA recommended a sentence of 7 to 21 years in prison.

"We continue to keep Stanley Christopher Soobrian’s family, especially his four young children, in our thoughts, DA Donnelly added."
