Former Tennessee Vols assistant coach Brian Niedermeyer has a new job in football.

Niedermeyer, who served as a tight ends coach/linebackers coach at Tennessee from 2018 to 2020, was one of the Vols assistant coaches that was involved in the recruiting scandal that cost Jeremy Pruitt his job as UT's head coach in early 2021.

The Alaska native was fired for cause by Tennessee as a result of the recruiting scandal.

After getting fired at Tennessee, Niedermeyer served as the defensive coordinator at IMG Academy in Florida (a high school program that Tennessee frequently recruits).

Earlier this week, it was reported that Niedermeyer has landed a job at Tuscaloosa County, a high school that is just a few miles away from the University of Alabama.

Niedermeyer, who was previously a graduate assistant at Alabama, will serve as the defensive coordinator at Tuscaloosa County.

The good news for Tennessee is that they probably won't be recruiting many players from a high school that sits in the shadow of Bryant-Denny Stadium.

I'm sure Niedermeyer won't be looking to do the Vols in favors in recruiting, which is why it's a good thing for Tennessee that Niedermeyer left IMG for Tuscaloosa County.
