Vanderbilt baseball faces elimination from the NCAA Tournament on Sunday against Xavier after losing to Oregon 8-7 on Saturday night and falling to the losers bracket of the Nashville Regional.

The Commodores (42-19) must win three more games in two days if they hope to advance to super regionals. If they beat Xavier in the elimination game, they will face the Ducks once more in a second elimination game Sunday night to attempt to force a winner-take-all game Monday.

It's the same situation Vanderbilt faced in 2022 as it ran through the losers bracket to force a final game in the Corvallis Regional but dropped that game.

Vanderbilt coach Tim Corbin did not name a starter for the matchup. The Commodores have 13 pitchers on their regional roster and five have already pitched.
