Vanderbilt baseball score vs. Florida in SEC Tournament: Live updates

HOOVER, Ala. — Vanderbilt baseball won its fourth straight SEC Tournament opener Wednesday night, defeating Auburn by a score of 6-4. But Thursday's winners' bracket game will present a much bigger challenge.

The No. 4 seed Commodores (38-17) will rematch with No. 1 seed Florida (43-13), which earned a share of the SEC title after sweeping Vanderbilt in Gainesville two weeks ago. The game will start 30 minutes after LSU-Arkansas, which is scheduled for 4:30 p.m. CT.

The Commodores did get one piece of good news, as left-hander Hunter Owen will be back on the mound after missing two weeks with shoulder soreness, including the series agains the Gators. Owen will be on a pitch count, coach Tim Corbin said.

"Hunter Owen's going to get an opportunity to pitch for the first time in a while," Corbin said in an interview with WNSR. "He did not pitch against them in Gainesville, so we don't know how long he'll go but he'll at least get the start."

The winner of this game will advance directly to Saturday's semifinal, while the loser will face the winner of the Alabama/Auburn game Friday.
