13,000 Onondaga County residents could lose Medicaid as eligibility reviews resume: Thousands of Onondaga County residents could lose their Medicaid coverage over the next year if they’re making too much money to qualify for the health insurance program for the poor and disabled. But they could also lose their health insurance simply because they’re unaware a renewal notice is coming in the mail. The government halted annual eligibility reviews in March of 2020 when the Covid pandemic began.

“Will to Win”: A fresh lens on SU’s NCAA basketball title, 20 years later: The title of Syracuse.com’s documentary film on Syracuse University’s 2003 NCAA men’s basketball championship comes straight from an interview with one of the team’s players. “Our will to win was strong,” said Gerry McNamara, a freshman guard on the title-winning team and now the associate head coach for the program. “And, to me, that outweighs any other thing. We wanted to win. It’s as simple as that.” The film, which recounts how Syracuse went from being unranked in the preseason to national champions, will premiere this Wednesday at the Landmark Theatre.

Brandon Beane talks Bills’ offseason plans: The Buffalo Bills have been shopping in the bargain bin during most of free agency and there’s a method to general manager Brandon Beane’s approach.
