Citywide vigil for Covenant shooting victims in Nashville

The shooting took the lives of three students and three staff members.

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) - City leaders, First Lady Jill Biden and the Nashville community was in attendance Wednesday night to honor those lost in the Nashville school shooting.

The vigil hosted by Mayor John Cooper and Council Member Russ Pulley was held to lift up the survivors and families of The Covenant School.

The vigil was held at One Public Square Park in downtown Nashville. Sheryl Crow was among several performers.

The school shooting at the Covenant School killed six people, including three children and three staff members. The victims have been identified as Evelyn Dieckhaus, Hallie Scruggs, and William Kinney, all 9, Katherine Koonce, 60, Cynthia Peak, 61, and 61-year-old Mike Hill.

Audrey Hale, 28, was identified as the shooter at The Covenant School Monday morning, according to the Metropolitan Nashville Police Department.
