One person injured, driver arrested after crash in Merrimack, police say
MERRIMACK, N.H. — One person was injured and the driver has been arrested following a crash on Turkey Hill Road in Merrimack, police say. Merrimack police said the car landed on its side next to a house on Turkey Hill Road shortly before 8:30 P.M. on Thursday, after leaving the road and rolling over multiple times. There was no damage to the house reported.

NASHUA, NH — The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) has awarded over $2.2 million to the Greater Nashua Continuum of Care (GNCOC). This funding will ensure ongoing support for up to 89 units of permanent supportive housing and services for individuals and families, including veterans, who are chronically homeless and living with disabilities within Nashua and surrounding towns.

Authorities are urgently searching for Michael Santos, a 29-year-old man reported missing since yesterday afternoon. Santos, described as having a thin frame at 5’5” and 120 pounds, with brown hair, brown eyes, and distinguishable glasses, was last sighted in the Nesmith St./Andover St. area at around 12:30 p.m. Lowell Police Department released this information, also noting that he has a notable tattoo on his neck.

Lawrence man charged with murder in connection with fatal shooting
A Lawrence man was charged in connection with a shooting Wednesday night that led to another man’s death, Essex District Attorney Paul Tucker’s office announced. Jason Rivera, 28, was charged with murder and is being held without bail, Tucker’s office said in a statement released on Thursday.

Free Self-Defense Course Offered for Tewksbury Women Runners
Master Garafano of ATA Martial Arts will run two-day training. A study released in February showed that, among women runners responding to a survey, 68% said they had experienced some form of abusive behavior. The most common type was verbal abuse, with 58% of the women who responded reporting that they had experienced this. However, a substantial number of women also said they had been followed while out running (19%) or received abuse from men in vehicles (13%). Thirteen women said they had been physically assaulted while out running, and seven women had been sexually assaulted. And of course in February, a female runner was killed in Georgia on her run, in broad daylight, on her college campus.
Manchester mayor announces overdose prevention plan for city
MANCHESTER, N.H. — New Hampshire's largest city has come out with a new report highlighting how it plans to prevent the number of drug overdoses from rising. Manchester Mayor Jay Ruais called the 2024 overdose prevention strategy a big step for the city. He said it's an investment guide to decide exactly where the city's money for primary prevention, harm reduction, treatment and recovery support should go.
