Man shot near home in Naperville, police say

NAPERVILLE, Ill. — Naperville police are investigating after a man was shot Tuesday afternoon.

The shooting happened around 1:30 p.m. in the 2500 block Leach Drive. Following a preliminary investigation, two suspects, known to the 22-year-old man, came over to the house.

A struggle ensued shortly after and the 22-year-old was shot in the leg. His condition was not provided.

The suspects fled the scene. One of them, a juvenile, was taken into custody hours later.

He was taken to the River Vallery Juvenile Detention Center and later charged with Aggravated Robbery, Naperville police said.

Police are seeking the second suspect.

According to police, six nearby schools were placed on lockdown and people in the area were asked to shelter in place.
