SCHP releases vehicle description of wanted SUV in deadly Kings Highway hit-and-run

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (WMBF) - South Carolina Highway Patrol has now released more information about a deadly hit-and-run on Kings Highway Saturday night.

Troopers released a photo and description of the vehicle believed to be involved in the crash.

SCHP said they are searching for a dark-colored SUV with front-end damage and possible hood damage.

“A pedestrian was struck and sustained fatal injuries as a result of the crash,” said Lena Butler, Lance Corporal, South Carolina Highway Patrol.

Jeff Emanuel has owned Comedy Cabana near the crash site since 1995 and says he has seen collisions along the stretch of roadway but never involving a pedestrian.

“There certainly have been accidents, especially near the Lake Arrowhead intersection, but nothing to this degree,” said Emanuel.
