In a rare event, two massive groups of cicadas will emerge across the Midwest from late April through June. The cast of Lakeshore Middle School’s spring musical is ready to show the community “a whole new world” during their production of a Disney classic. Performances of “Aladdin Jr.” will be held at the Lakeshore Performing Arts Center on Thursday, April 25, and Friday, April 26, at 7 p.m.; and Saturday, April 27, at 2 p.m. General admission tickets can be purchased with cash or check made out to Grand Haven Area Public Schools at the Lakeshore or White Pines Intermediate School main office or in the lobby of the auditorium an hour prior to each show. Tickets are $5.
West Ottawa again recognized as top district for music education
PARK TWP. — For a second consecutive year, West Ottawa Public Schools has been recognized for the quality of its music program. West Ottawa was recently named a Best Community for Music Education by The NAMM Foundation. It was one of just 21 districts in Michigan to receive the honor, and one of three in Ottawa County, along with Jenison and Spring Lake.
