MUSKEGON COUNTY, MI – A six-month detour around a bridge that was being replaced in eastern Muskegon County is finally over.

The rebuilt Trent Road bridge has reopened, according to a June 26 notice from the Muskegon County Road Commission.

Construction on the $1.15 million project in Casnovia Township began Jan. 16. The bridge project was paid with federal, state and local funding.

The Trent Road bridge crosses Crockery Creek near White Road.

The previous bridge’s foundation was more than 100 years old and had been listed in “poor” condition for several years, according to the road commission.
