A family of kayakers on the Conasauga River are safe after a rescue mission by the Murray County Search and Rescue Team.
That's according to a Facebook post by Murray County Public Safety.
According to the post, the quintet of 2 adults and three children got lost on Saturday afternoon while making their way down the river near Chatsworth, Georgia.
The department tells us the family came across a beaver dam and accidently overturned their kayaks, causing them to get stranded on an island in the middle of the river.
After a 911 call, the rescue team used drones to search the area and pinpoint the family's location.
The drone quickly found the group, at which point the rescue team used ATVs to get everyone to safety, according to the department.
Murray County Public Safety says there were no injuries and the family is doing fine.
