The Jan. 16 boil water notice for the City of Mountain View has been lifted.
Mountain View Police posted Wednesday afternoon the lifting of the order did not apply to all the rural water associations, only Mountain View water. The other water associations affected by the boil notice will notify their particular customers when their orders will be lifted.
At Tuesday’s meeting of the Mountain View City Council, members reviewed the recent water issues and agreed to purchase two eight-inch electric pumps as backup pumps for the water intake structure should another situation occur. According to the Stone County Leader, Mayor Roger Gardner also explained “a new upgraded valve system was underway to better flush out the gravity-fed pipes coming from the river.”
This new electric system can isolate and flush out individual pipes with more force and concentration, the Leader quoted the mayor as saying.
The new pumps will cost around $22,000 and should arrive in about nine weeks.
