Neighbor heard ammunition igniting from inside house engulfed in flames in Mount Pleasant

EAST HUNTINGDON TOWNSHIP, Pa. — A house is East Huntingdon Township was charred after it caught fire early Saturday morning.

According to Westmoreland County 911, crews were called to the 200 block of S. Quarry Street in Mount Pleasant at 8:22 a.m.

A neighbor told Channel 11 that she saw the fire and heard gunshots coming from the home.

She said dispatch told her to stay away from the windows.

By the time fire crews arrived, the house was fully engulfed in flames, the neighbor said.

The neighbor also told Channel 11 that ammunition from inside the home was going off.

According to the neighbor, the man who lives in the house wasn’t home at the time of the fire.

No one was hurt in the fire, dispatch said.
