SHEPHERD, Mich. (WJRT) - Someone who bought a Michigan Lottery instant game ticket in Isabella County became an instant millionaire on Thursday. The Michigan Lottery says a player won the $2 million top prize in the Money instant game with a ticket purchased in the EZ Mart at 550 E. Wright Ave. in Shepherd.

Major cheese producer laying off more than 100 workers in Mecosta County
A global food manufacturer is permanently laying off more than 100 employees in the new year at one of its Michigan plants in Mecosta County. Leprino Foods Company, which calls itself the world’s largest mozzarella cheesemaker, disclosed the layoffs at its plant at 311 N. Sheridan Ave. in Remus through a Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification (WARN) Act filing to the state earlier this month.
