Police investigating chase, crash involving 4 juveniles ending in Mt. Healthy
Springfield Township police say four juveniles were involved in a chase and crash featuring a stolen vehicle early Wednesday morning.
Police say at 1:13 a.m., Springfield Township officers responded to the 2400 block of Walden Glen Drive in Cincinnati for the report of multiple people breaking into vehicles.
Authorities say the people were seen to be driving a Kia Optima which was previously reported as stolen.
Officials say responding officers located the optima traveling south on Hamilton Ave., north of Struble Road, and followed the car to allow assisting officers to put pursuit-limiting measures, such as stop sticks, into place.
Police say the stop sticks were deployed near the intersection of Hamilton Ave. and Meredith Dr., where the car struck them but continued traveling south on Hamilton Ave. for less than a mile.
According to officials, the vehicle "became disabled in an accident" at Hamilton Ave. and the entrance to westbound Ronald Regan Highway.
Authorities say three of the four occupants of the vehicle fled the scene on foot, but were taken into custody a short time later.
Police say the driver of the car was assisted out by fire and EMS personnel on scene.
Officials say all four juveniles, whose ages were not disclosed, were transported to UC Medical Center for evaluation and subsequently charged.
Police did not say what they were charged with.
