Woman Struck, Killed Walking on the Parkway in Woodbridge
WOODBRIDGE, NJ — A pickup truck struck and killed a Pennsylvania woman as she walked along the Garden State Parkway here in the early morning hours of Sunday, the New Jersey State Police said. Pronounced dead at the accident scene was 34-year-old Liliya Rosenblum of Newville, Pa., authorities said.CLICK HERE TO SIGN UP FOR THE FREE TAPINTO.NET NEWSLETTER The initial investigation indicates Rosenblum was struck at 4:48 a.m. on April 14th walking along the Parkway’s southbound left lane near milepost 130.2 in Woodbridge, the State Police said on Monday. The pickup truck driver, whose identity was not released, dialed 911 for help, remained at the scene and cooperated with investigating troopers. 'Covered In Blood:' Man Assaulted With Hammer In Montclair Board Of Ed Parking Lot, Police Say
Giuseppe Iudici was charged with aggravated assault and multiple weapons offenses. He was remanded to the Essex County Correctional Facility. At 8 p.m., callers reported to police that two pick-up trucks were ramming into each other in the parking lot, Montclair officers said. Upon arrival, both parties were separated and officers noticed a significant amount of blood on the ground near the driver's side door of one of the vehicles, police said.

New Jersey longshoreman sentenced to over two years in prison for evading taxes
A New Jersey man was sentenced yesterday to 29 months in prison for evading taxes and not filing income tax returns. According to court documents and evidence presented at trial, Jonathan Michael worked as a crane mechanic in the machine shop at the Port Newark Container Terminal. In 2014, after decades of filing tax returns and paying his taxes, Michael gave his employer a fraudulent IRS Form W-4, Employee Withholding Allowance Certificate, that claimed he was exempt from any federal income tax withholding. From 2014 through 2021, Michael did not file tax returns or pay any tax, even though he earned over $2.5 million in wages.
