Flyers football team suffers shutout from EGF

The Little Falls Flyers football team hosted East Grand Forks Friday, Sept. 6. The Flyers lost, being shut out 14-0.

No points were scored until East Grand Forks scored a touchdown in the second quarter. They would have scored later in the first half was stopped by an interception from the Flyers’ Alex Thoma. In the Second half, East Grand Forks scored a defensive touchdown after blocking a punt from the Joey Welinski in the third quarter.

Flyers’ quarterback Gavin Anderson completed 12 of his 21 pass attempts for a total of 135 yards. Trent Rodent made receptions, with 107 receiving yards in total. Joey Welinski had 13 carries for 37 rushing yards.

As a whole, The Flyers had 175 total yards with 125 yards passing and 50 yards running. East Grand Forks had 218 yards 111 from passing and 117 running. The Flyers traveled to Morris Area Friday, Sept. 13 and will host Perham Friday, Sept. 20.
