The following are summaries of local Cross Country meets during the week of Aug. 30, 2024, compiled by Nick Tabatt.

Royals CC boys place eighth at Maple Lake

The Royalton Royals boys and girls cross country teams competed at the Maple Lake Invitational meet Thursday, Aug. 30.

The boys placed eighth out of 11 teams. The boys runners finished fairly close within each other, starting with Cody Bieniek taking 36th, finishing in 20:33. Lane Olson came in 38th place (20:39.1) and Trace Ratke in 39th (20:39.2).

Despite the girls not being able to compete with a full team, they still made some respectable performances. Chloe Reedy was the Royals girls’ top runner, placing sixth with a time of 21:49.07. Kaylee Hoheisel finished in 37th place with a time of 25:11.9.
