The following summaries of local Victory League games in Class C State Tournament between Aug. 31 and Sept. 1, compiled by Nick Tabatt.

Billygoats fall to Jordan in semifinals

The Buckman Billygoats season comes to an end after losing to Jordan 8-2 in the semifinals of the Class C State Tournament Sunday, Sept. 1.

The Billygoats’ Matt Taugtes went 3-4 at the plate, with on run. Lane Girtz went 0-3, earning a walk and also earning a run. Matt Kummet went 1-3 with two RBIs.

The Billygoats’ draftee pitcher from St. Stephen, Jack Greenlun led the team throwing four strikeouts and allowing two hits.

Jordan had nine hits and no errors in the game. The Billygoats had seven hits and one error.

Billygoats beat New Ulm

The game that lead the Billygoats to the semifinals was beating New Ulm 6-4 Saturday, Aug. 31.

Taugtes pitched all nine innings, throwing eight strikeouts and allowing two walks. Girtz went 3-4 at the plate, with a run and two RBIs. Ben Thoma wennt 1-3 with a double and three RBIs.

the Billygoats had seven hits and one error. New Ulm had 10 hits and two errors.
