Pittsburgh-Area Linebacker Talks Official Visit to WVU, What's Next

West Virginia receives a visit from Cameron Lindsey.

One of the several recruits to make it into Morgantown for an official visit last weekend was Pittsburgh-area linebacker Cameron Lindsey (6'2", 205 lbs) of Aliquippa HS.

"It was great. I had an amazing time there," Lindsey told Mountaineers Now. "Coach [Dontae] Wright has been great since day one and our relationship keeps getting better and better."

Not only did Lindsey come away from the visit impressed with the football side of things, but academically as well.

"I love the way they emphasize academics and how they make it just as important as being on the field. They also have majors that interest me and they can fix your schedule around to not overwhelm you. I feel like there is an opportunity there for me."

Aside from West Virginia, Lindsey is also being pursued by Cincinnati, Maryland, Penn State, Syracuse, and a number of Group of Five schools. Following last weekend's visit, Lindsey tells Mountaineers Now that WVU is "definitely a favorite."

The Aliquippa star has an official visit to Pitt this weekend and plans to take another visit the following weekend.

A decision is expected to be made sometime between mid-July to early August.
