Top QB Target Completes Official Visit to West Virginia

The Mountaineers are firmly in the mix for one of the top QBs in Pennsylvania.

Class of 2024 quarterback Samaj Jones (5'11", 205 lbs) of St. Joseph's Prep School in Philadelphia, PA was one of the many recruits on the campus of West Virginia University this weekend for an official visit.

This marks the third trip this year that Jones has made his way to Morgantown, having visited in mid-January and in April for unofficials. Alongside QBs coach Sean Reagan and head coach Neal Brown, Jones has a couple of others recruiting him to WVU - former teammates LB Josiah Trotter and DL Richard "Wink" James. Trotter is entering his freshman year at WVU while James is in the same recruiting class as Jones and is one of three recruits committed to the program. He recently transferred to Camden High School.

As you could imagine, it will be a busy month ahead for the dual-threat quarterback as he has official visits planned for Cincinnati June 9-11 and Oklahoma June 16-18. Penn State is also in the top four for Jones but has not scheduled an official visit there just yet.

As a junior, Jones completed 131-of-206 pass attempts (63.5%) for 2,526 yards and 32 touchdowns. He also ran for 735 yards and 14 touchdowns on 99 carries.
