Firefighters raced to a house fire with someone reported to be trapped inside Friday afternoon in Northampton County.
One male and one female occupant of the Moore Township home were already outside with one male still inside as crews arrived, but he, too, was able to get out to safety, according to the township’s Klecknersville Rangers Volunteer Fire Co. Chief Jon Mann.
The female resident was taken to the hospital via ambulance for treatment of smoke inhalation, Mann said.
It was reported about 3:45 p.m. at a modular home in the 100 block of Hickory Hills Drive.
The fire caused significant damage to a rear room, and the house was not immediately habitable, Mann said. The American Red Cross was called to assist those displaced.
Firefighters were able to get the blaze under control within about 10 minutes of arriving and keep the fire from spreading, according to the fire chief.
The cause remained under investigation.
Assisting the Klecknersville Rangers were fire companies from Bushkill Township, Bath, Lehigh Township, Allen Township and Hanover Township, Northampton County.
