New United Way director looking forward to Day of Caring
“We have been gearing up for our first event, which takes place the first Saturday in May, May 4,” said Pam Williams the new executive director of United Way of Moore County, which among other things, raises money to support local non-profit and charity organizations. May 4 is the United Way’s annual Day of Caring, where volunteers from across the community come together to work on home and lawn maintenance projects for the elderly and disabled who cannot do the work themselves or afford to hire it done. Williams said preparations are going well.
