Booze It or Lose It Campaign begins in Moore County December 15
The Metro Moore County Sheriff’s Office is partnering with the Tennessee Highway Safety Office (THSO) to increase impaired driving enforcement from December 15, 2023, to January 1, 2024, surrounding the holiday season. The THSO’s statewide Booze It and Lose It campaign is part of the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over nationwide mobilization.
Lynchburg comes together to celebrate Christmas
Christmas in Lynchburg took place as usual despite a day of significant rain. The sidewalks of the Lynchburg square were flocked with umbrellas of visitors as well as locals venturing out to shop and enjoy the start of the holiday season in Moore County. The parade was the only event moved to another day which took place on Monday, December 4 at 5:30pm. This date proved to be much more enjoyable for parade goers in terms of weather.
Rebel wrestlers take on Lawrence, Moore, Oakland at home
The Franklin County High School boys and girls wrestling teams competed in a home meet Tuesday against the teams of Lawrence County, Moore County and Oakland. The Rebelettes won all three of their duals for the day while the Rebels picked up two wins out of their three team matchups for the meet.
Moore County’s White Named Mr Football in Class 1A
Tennessee’s best high school football players for 2023 were recognized at the Tennessee Titans Mr. Football Awards luncheon hosted by the Tennessee Titans. More than 400 people, including the honorees, their families, coaches, school administrators and members of the media from all parts of the state, attended the 2023 luncheon at Nissan Stadium.

Raiderettes start season strong
The Raiderettes came up a bucket short following a barn burner against Summertown in the finals of Cornersville Thanksgiving Classic this past week, falling 37-35. The appearance in the finals of the holiday tournament capped a busy week for the Moore County High School girls as they started the season out 3-2, their losses to state ranked Upperman 39-21 in their season opener at the Hall of Fame at Cascade in Wartrace and their close tilt against Summertown. Meanwhile the Raiderettes tasted victory three times over their busy week, topping LaVergne 59-28 in the Hall of Fame at Wartrace and then pounding Giles County 45-20 in the opening round of the Cornersville Classic and rocking host Cornersville 54-12.
