GALAX, Va. (WFXR) — The VHSL Class 1 Finals features the 10-4 Galax Maroon Tide against the 14-0 Essex Trojans coached by former Pulaski County head coach Todd Jones Saturday afternoon at 5 pm at Salem Stadium. For Galax this is their 6th finals appearance with a 1-4 mark. Galax lone state title came in 2015 when they beat Riverheads 7-6. The Maroon Tide’s last finals appearance came in Spring 2021 a 65-21 loss to riverheads.
