3-year-old boy dies in Montrose pond accident
GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KJCT) - At 11:37 a.m. on April 29, WestCO dispatch received a call from the 69000 block of Vernal Road about an unresponsive child. Despite life-saving measures performed by first responders, the child’s father, and a neighbor, the 3-year-old boy was pronounced dead after continued efforts at the hospital. The child was later identified as 3-year-old John Robert Gorsky, of Montrose, Colo. The cause of death appears to be drowning.

ELBERT COUNTY, Colo. (KKTV) - Family members of victims whose remains have been mishandled by funeral professionals in Colorado re planning a memorial for their loved ones. Since 2010, there have been several cases of funeral professionals mishandling remains, according to the Department of Regulatory Agencies. This includes the case of the Sunset Mesa Funeral Home in Montrose, where bodies and body parts were sold without consent, as well as the Return to Nature Funeral Home, where nearly 200 bodies were found improperly stored.
3 year-old child dies in pond accident
MONTROSE, Colo. (KREX) — Emergency responders rushed to the 69000 block of Vernal Road on Monday morning after reports of a young child falling into a small pond on his family’s property. Despite the efforts of the child’s father and neighbors performing CPR, the 3-year-old boy, identified as John Robert Gorsky, could not be saved. The Montrose County coroner and Sheriff’s Office are investigating the incident, which appears to be a tragic accident.
