MONTICELLO — As Highway 25 bridge repairs at the Mississippi River crossing continue, MnDOT will have another set of full overnight bridge closures on several upcoming days to complete deck work.

The following is an updated schedule, due to rain in the forecast:

    8 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 19, to 5 a.m. Friday, Sept. 208 p.m. Friday, Sept. 20, to 5 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 218 p.m. Monday, Sept. 23, to 5 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 248 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 24, to 5 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 25

MnDOT said the closures will be weather dependent and are subject to change.

Nighttime road closures are required as the contractor completes the northbound lanes.

These overnight closures are necessary to reduce vibration on the bridge as concrete sets, MnDOT explained.

Bridge construction is expected to continue through late October.

The repairs, which are estimated at $2.6 million, include milling and refacing the bridge deck, replacing panels and joints, fixing concrete, widening sidewalks, upgrading lighting and also improving stormwater drainage.

Drivers are advised to use 511mn.org to find out current travel speeds and road conditions on Highway 25.

For current or upcoming impacts, to view maps, to contact the Highway 25 project team or sign up for construction updates, visit the project website at www.mndot.gov/d3/projects/monticello.
