Romp & Stomp playground gets grant toward upgrade
MONTICELLO — A planned upgrade to the Romp & Stomp indoor playground at the Monticello Community Center is one step closer, thanks to a $30,000 grant. The funding contribution from the Ellison Foundation will go toward the second — and final — phase of the playground, which will add a swirl slide, additional crawl tubes and protective rubber surfacing. The projected cost is $45,000 to $50,000, so more funding is sought before work can begin. The first phase of the multi-level play structure was completed in 2022.
