LEON COUNTY, Fla. (WCTV) - A Leon County man was arrested Tuesday and accused of aggravated assault and false imprisonment, according to Leon County Sheriff’s Office. Upon LCSO’s arrival at Tallahassee Memorial HealthCare in reference to an allegation of battery and false imprisonment, the victim told the deputies that he had a fight with 40-year-old Aron Fruaenthal that day.

TALLAHASSEE, Fla (WCTV) - Friends confirmed that a cyclist killed in a hit and run in Jefferson County Friday was FSU student and national championship cyclist Jake Boykin. “Someone so young and so special and special beyond his talents on the bike and everyone is in shock and trying to process what’s a huge loss,” fellow cyclist and close friend Jason Khon-Hohensee said. “Not just for our cycling community, but we all knew Jake was going to go on to do great things in life, and we’re all so hurt by the fact that he’s not going to have that opportunity to change the world like we knew he would.”
Cyclist killed on Wacissa Springs Rd.
Heather Ainsley ECB Publishing, Inc. On Friday, September 22, just before 7 p.m., Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) responded to a traffic collision on Wacissa Springs Rd., in Jefferson County. A pickup truck traveling south-bound struck a bicyclist on the roadway. The cyclist, a 25-year-old male from Tallahassee, whose name has not yet been officially released, was flown to Tallahassee Memorial Hospital with life-threatening injuries. According to the press release provided by FHP, the vehicle left the scene and was located a short time later with the bike still impaled into the front of the truck's grill. The driver of the truck, a 60-year-old male from Tallahassee, was transported to TMH.

Two months later, the Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) announced the arrest of the alleged shooter, Kendrick Reed, who is currently being held in the Jefferson County Jail. According to the Arrest Affidavit, Reed was arrested on Aug. 10 for an outstanding Driving While License Suspended or Revoked warrant, which is a felony charge. It wasn't until Aug. 11, when Jefferson County Sheriff's Office Detective (Det.) Wren Johnson and FDLE Special Agent (S.A.) Kevin Sears interviewed Reed, that his connection to the June 13 murder investigation was more fully confirmed.
