Air Quality Alert continues until midnight

The Air Quality Alert for Christian, Trigg, Montgomery and Stewart counties remains in effect through midnight, as residents with breathing issues are urged to avoid strenuous activity outdoors.

It’s due to smoke in the atmosphere from wildfires in Canada and National Weather Service Meteorologist Justin Gibbs says that haze has also reduced visibilities slightly at times.

The general public is not likely to be affected by the reduced air quality, but active children and adults, and people with a respiratory disease such as Asthma, should limit prolonged outdoor exertion.
