A plan to ban gas-powered leaf blowers is off in Montgomery County, for now.
The county council said there are concerns over a rebate program where people would be paid to swap out their gas-powered leaf blowers for electric ones.
Supporters of the ban said they are noisy and bad for the environment.
In Montgomery County, violators could face a $500 fine for their first offense.
The Baltimore City Council is considering a similar measure.
