Montgomery police make murder arrest

Montgomery police have made an arrest in a fatal shooting.

Police say they’ve charged 25-year-old Desmond Lowe,  Jr., with murder. He lives in the Cecil community in eastern Montgomery County.

Police say he is charged with killing 28-year-old Donald Bell, Jr. of Montgomery. Police say Bell was shot Saturday night in the 700 block of N. University Drive, near Alabama State University.

Investigators say Lowe was taken into custody yesterday with the help of the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency Aviation Unit, the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office and the U.S. Marshals Gulf Coast Regional Fugitive Task Force.

Lowe is being held in the Montgomery County Detention Facility under no bond.
