HARRISONBURG, Va. (WHSV) - The Harrisonburg Turks defeated the Staunton Braves 5-4 in 12 innings on Tuesday night. Cam Harris scored the winning run on a wild pitch in the bottom of the 12th inning to propel the Turks. Harrisonburg improves their record to 4-4 while Staunton drops to 4-5.

Donation of blankets will provide ‘a little bit of comfort’ to Sentara RMH cancer patients
A kind donation will make life a little more comfortable for Sentara RMH Hahn Cancer Center patients undergoing treatment. Representatives from Bob Wade Subaru in Harrisonburg delivered eight boxes filled with plush blankets that convert into comfortable heart shaped pillows. The donation is part of the partnership between the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) and the Subaru Loves to Care initiative.
Turner Ashby suffers heartbreak in VHSL Class 3 State Championship
CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (WHSV) - Christiansburg captured its first VHSL state softball title on Saturday, coming from behind to defeat Turner Ashby 6-3 in eight innings. Trailing 1-0 in the bottom of the third, Turner Ashby took the lead on Kendall Simmers’ 2-RBI double. The Knights would hold that until the top of the seventh.
Blue Ridge Area Food Bank gets grant from Perdue Farms
CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (CBS19 NEWS) -- Perdue Farms has given a $20,000 grant to Blue Ridge Area Food Bank to help fund its Good Food School Markets. Located at Harrisonburg High School and Broadway High School, the Good Food School Markets are part of a privately funded child nutrition program that brings fresh produce and shelf-stable foods into high schools for distribution to students and families in need.

(WHSV) - On June 7, the Staunton Police Department responded to a call after a cyclist was struck at a crosswalk on the intersection of Spring Hill Road and Hendran Avenue in Staunton. Man found dead in Harrisonburg apartment identified as Mount Jackson police officer
HARRISONBURG, Va. (ROCKTOWN NOW) – The remains of a man found dead by Harrisonburg Police on Monday night have been identified as a Mount Jackson police officer. In a release Tuesday, Mount Jackson Police Chief James Cowart confirmed that the body of Officer Chazz Beaver was located during a requested welfare check at his Devon Lane apartment complex.
