Centralia blows by Shelton without dropping set
The Tigers dominated an Evergreen Conference match on Monday afternoon, sweeping the Highclimbers in singles and doubles to win 6-0 at home. Of the three singles matches and three doubles contests, Centralia dropped a total of 16 games. Maya Lackie (No. 1 singles) and its Nos. 2 and 3 doubles tandems didn’t drop a game in the second set to complete the sweep.
National Alliance on Mental Illness Thurston/Mason Chooses Shelton High School for NAMIWalks
The last few years have been hard on our mental health. According to the Washington State Department of Children, Youth & Families, rates of youth suicide and attempted suicide increased by more than 600% between 2013 and 2021. In June, the National Alliance on Mental Illness Thurston-Mason chapter – known as NAMI Thurston/Mason – is taking steps to help raise awareness for mental illness in all ages at their first annual NAMIWalks at Shelton High School.
OSP responds to fatal single-vehicle crash in Douglas County
DOUGLAS COUNTY, Ore. -- Oregon State Police responded to a fatal single-vehicle crash on Interstate 5, near milepost 146, in the evening on April 19. Authorities said that a Jaguar F-Pace, operated by 23-year-old Paul William Jordison of Rochester, Washington, was travelling southbound on I-5 when it veered off the right-hand shoulder of the roadway for unknown reasons.

One injured in crash that closed U.S. Highway 12 between Rochester and Grand Mound for over four hours on Monday
U.S. Highway 12 was closed for about four-and-a-half hours between Rochester and Grand Mound Monday afternoon following a three-vehicle crash. One of the three drivers, identified by the Washington State Patrol as Anita K. Auld, 74, of Roy, was transported to Providence St. Peter Hospital in Olympia for treatment of injuries sustained in the crash, which was reported just after 2:10 p.m. on April 15. No other injuries were reported.
